Benih Cafe is a true hidden gem, with an affordable menu and cosy interiors. It’s become my new favourite cafe in Kuta – and here’s why.
Let’s be real — Kuta can be chaotic. Between the bustling beach crowds and souvenir stalls, finding a quiet spot to eat can be overwhelming. But tucked away from the action is a hidden gem I keep coming back to: Benih Cafe. This breezy, feel-good hangout is where I hit pause and refuel with some seriously good (and affordable!) food. Think fresh, flavour-packed brunch classics, chill tropical vibes, and friendly service that makes you feel like a regular the moment you stroll in.
You could easily miss Benih Cafe amidst the whirlwind of Kuta — but trust me, this one’s worth finding. Since opening in 2018, it’s quietly built a loyal fanbase, and for good reason. This laid-back cafe offers something rare in this part of Bali: consistently good food that’s both affordable and delicious, delivered by staff who greet you like an old friend. I recently swung by for both brunch and dinner (you know, for research…), and here’s why I think Benih Cafe deserves a spot on your Bali cafe hit list too.
Benih Cafe is a hidden gem in Kuta

Benih Cafe is a bit of a secret spot amongst locals and expats. Step inside and suddenly, you’re not in the thick of Kuta anymore. I was genuinely surprised by how peaceful and spacious it felt. It’s calm, cosy, and the perfect escape from the buzz outside. Picture a tropical-meets-industrial living room: polished concrete floors, plenty of plants, and light wood furniture with an effortless indoor-outdoor energy.
What I love most about Benih Cafe is that it flies under the radar, yet it always delivers. It’s one of the few cafes that I (and plenty of in-the-know locals) will happily keep coming back to. In fact, it’s also a perfect spot for digital nomads looking for a serene workspace, or just to grab a quiet bite after a long day at the beach.
Benih’s menu is delicious and affordable

When I first popped into Benih Cafe for brunch, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of international faves on the menu. As a certified egg lover, I couldn’t resist the classic Shakshuka. Perfectly gooey poached eggs sat amongst a rich tomato base, with a salty, tangy hit from a sprinkling of feta.
In my opinion, coffee can make or break a good brunch, but just one sip of the cappuccino and I knew I would be coming back for more. And not just for the caffeine, but for all the other brunch picks too, like the Roasted Cherry Avo and the Salmon Bagel. Oh, and a little insider tip: brunch is just IDR 58,000++ if you’re in before 12pm!
It was so calm and quiet when I visited, I stayed much longer than expected, which worked out perfectly, because it meant I could try the Asian-inspired dishes on the lunch and dinner menu! I had my eye on the Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl, but I ended up going with the Vietnamese Pho instead. The broth was warm, the greens were fresh, and the beef was tender and flavourful, just as the waitress promised.
And for any plant-based eaters, you’ll be pleased to know there are plenty of vegetarian options on the menu, with some vegan-friendly picks for brekkie, lunch and dinner too.
Friendly service that keeps you coming back

They say great service makes all the difference, and that’s exactly where Benih Cafe shines. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and a relaxed welcome that instantly set the tone. The team strikes that perfect balance — attentive without hovering — and they genuinely care that you’re enjoying your meal. They even offered up a few menu recommendations (thankfully!), which meant I got to try some of their signatures. It’s those thoughtful little touches that keep Benih feeling special, no matter how many times you visit. This is one cafe in Kuta that I will definitely keep recommending.
