Carrying too much baggage under your eyes? Hailing from Korea, this minimally invasive eyebag removal treatment in Singapore is worth a shot.
These overstuffed bags under my eyes? I’ll be honest; they’ve been an insecurity for as long as I can remember. Even after clocking hours of sleep, I still can’t rid that perpetually tired look. Best believe I’ve exhausted every home remedy, from finishing tubes of caffeine eye creams to using steeped tea bags – and even toying with the idea of blepharoplasty (an aesthetic eyelid surgery). So, when the chance to try a non-surgical eyebag removal treatment in Singapore came around, I was all ears.
Using a Korean-hailed technique, RF Eye Revo is a minimally invasive aesthetic treatment that tackles unwanted eyebags and eye wrinkles without going under the knife. Plus, many patients have raved about it being a hassle-free procedure with no scarring and fast recovery. Say less. I booked an appointment at Cambridge Medical Group’s Ngee Ann City outlet, and headed there with high hopes for a brighter-eyed future.
Settling in and getting comfy
To reach the outlet at Ngee Ann City, head to level 1, locate the Chanel boutique store, and take the lift at the Tower B lift lobby to level eight. Clean, sleek and doused in warm lighting, the aesthetic clinic instantly welcomed me with an inviting ambience.
I was greeted by friendly staff and completed a quick registration before meeting Cambridge Medical Group’s founder, Dr Lee Mun Heng. Dr Lee quickly made me feel comfortable with his amiable demeanour. Plus, it was reassuring to know that he has over 15 years of medical aesthetics experience under his belt.

He did a quick physical examination of my under-eye (looking at my eyebag size, skin quality and skin elasticity) to determine my suitability for RF Eye Revo. It’s generally suited for those with mild to moderate under-eye bags or wrinkles which do not improve with lifestyle changes or topical products. For more severe cases – typically seen in elderly patients – surgical options like lower blepharoplasty may be more suitable.
Gone are the days of only using a cutting method to rid excess skin and fat in the under-eye region. The RF Eye Revo procedure uses patented micro-needles which emit radio-frequency energy to the eye area.
It works by carefully selecting subcutaneous fat between the skin and before the orbital septum (a fibrous membrane that acts as a barrier between the eyelids and deeper orbital structures), in turn tightening and firming the skin around the eye region. Plus, it boosts collagen production, which is always a win in my book.
The biggest draw of RF Eye Revo? Its non-surgical and minimally invasive approach. Unlike typical cosmetic surgeries, the risks are lower, with shorter downtime and no scarring. That said, Dr Lee shared that topical and local anaesthetics are needed to keep discomfort to a minimum. It’s worth noting if needles are your nemesis!

Once I was deemed suitable for the eyebag removal treatment, a staff member ran through the process, risks and post-treatment must-knows. I was also whisked off for a VISIA scan – a high-tech analysis that gives a detailed report of your skin’s sun damage, texture, wrinkles and more. All customers will undergo this scan as a basic report of their skin’s foundation and treatment recommendations.
Off to where the magic happens
After all the nitty-gritty was out of the way, I met Ivy (Dr Lee’s assistant for the day) in the treatment room. Gentle and easy to talk to, her presence made the entire process feel a lot less intimidating. She first cleansed my face – remember to come bare-faced, with no eyelash extensions and contact lenses! This was followed by a topical anaesthetic, which needed 20 minutes to take effect. I felt a tingling sensation after application, but no pain or discomfort.
Next, it was time for Dr Lee to administer the local anaesthetic. I’ll be honest; this part had me a little on edge, but I gritted my teeth through it for the sake of a more comfortable treatment. Injections are done all around the eye region, so expect brief stinging as the needles are inserted, along with slight pressure as the anaesthetic liquid seeps into the skin tissue. A heads up: don’t be alarmed if your eyelids droop and feel heavy as the sensation takes a few hours to wear off.

With the numbing in full swing, we began the eyebag removal treatment. There are two parts to it: tightening of the skin around the eye region (which will sag when fats are removed), as well as melting of the fats.
Dr Lee worked his way around my eye region with precision and care. Expect some pulling and tugging of your skin before the microneedles are inserted. Thanks to the anaesthetic effects, I felt no discomfort besides slight pressure on most areas. But in areas that were less plump (think near the cheekbones and sides of the face), it felt more intense with occasional pricking sensations.
During the fat melting stage, you may expect a sizzling sensation accompanied by some crackling sounds. As Dr Lee explained, these sounds are normal and indicate that the treatment is progressing as expected. After 15 to 20 minutes of microneedling action, I was finally on to the last leg of the procedure: post-treatment care.
Giving my eyebags some TLC

The first thing I did? Ask for a mirror to see how my face was holding up. Post-treatment responses vary for individuals, and according to Ivy, mine appeared less severe. While there were slight redness and purplish marks around my under eye region, I could easily walk around in public without alarming anyone.
To minimise any swelling and bruising, Ivy gave me a cold compress and topical antibiotics. But the TLC doesn’t end here. There’s a list of dos and don’ts for aftercare, plus oral and topical medication to aid recovery. This includes icing the treatment region for 10 to 15 minutes every three hours for the first three days, applying topical antibiotics thrice a day, and diligently popping oral antibiotics and anti-bruising medicine for the next five days.
Applying make-up (especially around the eye region) was a big no-no for the first five days, as well as any exercise for the first week, to avoid triggering swelling. After the second week, you can ease into lower intensity workouts like long walks and light weightlifting. While this might seem extensive, I reckon it’s miles better than the months of recovery after a typical surgery.
Ready for the eye-opening reveal?
As expected, the swelling looked most visible within the first 24 hours, with one side of my undereye having more obvious bruising. On the first few days, I noticed some itchy, raised bumps – almost like mosquito bites – around my undereye region that would come and go. The area also felt tender to touch. But these were all part of the recovery process. My advice? Don’t arrange any meet-ups or events in the first week as your face slowly regains normalcy.
Within a week of my treatment, the swelling and bruising gradually went away. That said, the area still feels slightly sore when I wash my face or apply skincare. According to Cambridge’s staff, it’s normal to feel soreness up to a month post-treatment, even after the superficial bruising has subsided.

But the results? As someone who used to struggle with two distinctive bulges under my eyes, the fat bulges seem to have shrunk and now look less three-dimensional. A week on, I could get away with just a light layer of colour corrector and concealer, as opposed to copious amounts in the past. While my eyebags aren’t eradicated, it’s an improvement that even some of my close friends pointed out. I can’t wait to see the results reach their full potential in a month!
According to the team at Cambridge Medical Group, optimal results can be seen within one to three months of the treatment, and can last up to two to five years. The results are progressive, so additional sessions are recommended for more obvious improvements. Do note that results may vary for each patient.
I’ll consider the results from one session of RF Eye Revo a personal win for me. It’s a minimally invasive procedure that had me in and out within two hours, with a considerably short recovery period. While the treatment at Cambridge Medical Group starts from $2,000 per session, it could be a worthwhile investment if your under-eye baggage has been bugging you for eons.
Psst: besides RF Eye Revo, Cambridge Medical Group also offers other popular treatments such as the 4D Eye Rejuvenation and Nitrogen Plasma Eye Lift. We recommend scheduling a consultation with Dr Lee to get a personalised treatment plan that best suits your needs!
